History
The conception of Luna Morte started in 2001 with the start of lyrics coming into being. These lyrics were dark and based in fantasy taking musical inspiration from Cradle of Filth, Cannibal Corpse, Amon Amarth and the likes. On the other side of the coin was the influence of industrial/techno bands such as The Crystal Method, Gravity Kills and Interface. With this influence around 2003 Rivers in Red was created and work was started on putting it to music with DJ Riglin. That work was never finished and has been unfortunately lost. Without the equipment and means any musical production beyond lyrics was put to a halt.
In the spring of 2007 those means finally became available. Some old music like Politeness (2006 - guitar & flute) were re-recorded and and in the late summer of 2007 new music was created using a Yamaha PSR-85. October of 2007 brought about Luna Morte's Myspace which included newly recorded instrumentals. These included Your Tears, Sadness, Politeness and an untitle track. Not long after, Luna Morte decided to take a different path and started creations with AcidPro (thanks to a recommendation of a friend) which led to the use of FruityLoops. Thus Expansion was born.
The first 2 songs for Expasion started dark and gothic but with influences of Porcupine Tree and Pink Floyd the last songs took on a life of their own. By the end, a four song musical story of the Montauk Project was created along with five other songs.
